Porsche’s New Cayenne: Comprehensive Changes to Powertrain, Chassis, Design, and Equipment
Porsche has launched the latest Cayenne, which underwent fundamental changes to its powertrain, chassis, design, and equipment. The automaker boasts that the upgrade is one of the most extensive in its history. The new Cayenne comes with new chassis technology, innovative high-tech features, and a highly digitalized display and control system.
Porsche Driver Experience
Porsche integrated a completely revised display and control system, called the Porsche Driver Experience, into the new Cayenne. The system was first introduced in the Taycan and focuses on the driver’s axis and optimizes operation. The lever located on the left behind the steering wheel now has additional functions for operating the driver assistance systems. The automatic transmission selector lever is now on the dashboard. The new Cayenne also includes a fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central Porsche Communication Management display. Native apps such as Spotify and Apple Music are available to optimize connectivity in the new Cayenne.
Refined Design, Innovative Lighting Technology
The new Cayenne has a particularly expressive appearance, with a new front end, bonnet, and headlights that emphasize the vehicle’s width. The rear end of the Cayenne has three-dimensionally designed tail lights, uncluttered surfaces, and a new rear apron with an integrated number plate holder. The Matrix LED Headlights are now standard in the new Cayenne, while HD Matrix LED Headlights are optional. The innovative technology picks out other users and blocks out the light of the high beam to prevent dazzling. The vehicle also comes with an air quality system that uses predictive navigation data to detect approaching tunnel entrances and automatically activates air recirculation.
Increased Range between Ride Comfort and Performance
Porsche now equips the Cayenne with a steel spring suspension that includes Porsche Active Suspension Management. New shock absorbers with 2-valve technology and separate rebound and compression stages allow optimized performance in all driving situations. The driving experience can be further enhanced with the new adaptive air suspension with 2-chamber, 2-valve technology.
