LOUIS XIII : RARE CASK 42.1

LOUIS XIII unveils RARE CASK 42.1

LOUIS XIII unveils RARE CASK 42.1, a true Wonder of Time and Nature, offering an ultimate expression of LOUIS XIII Cognac.

LOUIS XIII has introduced a new addition to its collection of premium cognacs, RARE CASK 42.1. This release represents a rare and unique expression of LOUIS XIII Cognac, with an unexpected 42.1% ABV. The eaux-de-vie inside the single tierçon is undergoing an enchanting transformation, deepening in emotional intensity and fascinating mahogany hues.

Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau

Is proud to unveil the third milestone in the RARE CASK legacy, which combines the forces of Time and Nature acting through an endless number of interwoven cycles to give LOUIS XIII Cognac its inimitable complexity. The RARE CASK collection pays testimony to the legacy of the House and successive Cellar Masters.

RARE CASK 42.1

Is presented as a ritual set, accompanied by crystal glasses and a serving pipette featuring a black medallion. Each black crystal decanter is handcrafted at the House of Baccarat in France and inspired by a flask unearthed on the battlefield of Jarnac in 1569. The limited number of just over 775 decanters highlights the importance of caring for wonders – for Time and Nature, at the crossroads of art and savoir-faire.

The Rare Cask story began in 2004 when Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet identified a centennial tierçon of eaux-de-vie with a richness and intensity never encountered before and an exceptional 43.8 degrees ABV. This became the first Rare Cask, with only 786 black crystal decanters released. The second Rare Cask was launched in 2013 with a different ABV of 42.6. RARE CASK 42.1 represents the third ever special edition in the Rare Cask collection.
